Coaching agreement

Coaching aims at the personal and professional development of an employee. It works best when it happens in a climate of openness and mutual respect.

Our expectations of each other are that:

  • Responsibility for success of coaching is shared between coach and coachee
  • We will agree clear and specific initial goals for coaching, while recognising that these may change with time
  • We will aim to be as open and honest as possible with each other and with ourselves
  • We will both prepare effectively for coaching session
  • The coachee commits to reflecting on coaching conversations, and to take the actions agreed upon
  • The coachee commits to keeping the coach informed of their progress
  • The coach will provide timely and objective feedback, where appropriate
  • The coach will be available to support the coachee, as needed
  • We will both respect information given in confidence
  • We will review the coaching process and our learning relationship from time to time, to enhance the quality
  • We will meet [frequency]
